United Defense-brief facts

United Defense, the owner of Bofors Defence, is engaged in many fields of design, technology as well as in system integration. It manufactures both land-based and naval defence systems.

At present United Defence consists of five divisions and operates from eleven locations in the United States.

It also collaborates in overseas joint projects and has customer services  throughout the world.

United Defense , with 5000 employees, has its head office in Arlington, Washington D.C. and belongs to The Carlyle Group, a worldwide privately owned investment company, also situated in Washington.

United Defense has an extensive range of products. It produces 80% of all armoured vehicles in the US Army´s arsenal and systems used by the US Navy in its surface vessels. United Defense supplies defence systems to more than 24 countries globaly.
